EFS Super Abrasives provides machine shops the option to chemical blacken their parts for asthetic and limited oxidation properties. This process involves the chemical blackening or black oxidising process forming a black oxidation layer on the surface of the steel. The back oxidation layer (Fe3O4) is negligable in size build up but provides a rough surface which adheres well to lubricants which are applied to prevent the more common red rust (Fe2O3).
